How Verizonwireless is
Verizonwireless is a result of merger between some companies. In 1995, there is a merger between Bell Atlantic Mobile and NYNEX Mobile Communications, which resulted in Bell Atlantic – NYNEX Mobile. Furthermore, AirTouch Communications from San Francisco, California merged with Vodafone Group Plc based on UK to form Vodafone AirTouch Plc in June 1999. By September 1999, there was a joint venture between Vodafone AirTouch and Bell Atlantic Corporation in the amount of $90-billion, which was named Verizonwireless. Afterward, this joint venture consists of two U.S. wireless assets, that is to say AirTouch Paging and Bell Atlantic Mobile. Moreover, on April 4, 2000, the joint venture started to operate as Verizonwireless.
Thereafter, Verizonwireless prepay cell phones plan became the largest provider of wireless communication at national scale on June 30, 2000, after Verizon Communication was formed. According to its name, Verizon is the blending of “veritas” meaning truth and “horizon”.
